180* T Stat?

First off, I wanted to say that Joey at Terminator is the man! He not only helped me with any and all of my questions reguarding my new pump, but has gone outta his way on several occasions to answer questions of mine that are not even hpop related, but just my truck in general. Best customer service, hands down that I have ever recieved!

Ok now my question, I know alot of people have been running the 203* Tstat, but does anyone have any experience with a 180* one? I live in Fl, and was thinking that raising the temps wouldn't be such a good idea, but I dont know, just looking for others opinions.

2000 DRW CC 7.3
Exterior: 08 Exterior Clone, 22.5's
Engine Mods: GTP38R WW2, 5 inch exhaust,T500, 6637, TW tunes,DI Up pipes, 6.7 fuel pump fuel system.
Trans Mods: 6.0 trans cooler, JW Valve body,Billet triple disc converter.
Sound Mods: 7" flip out tv, 3-way speakers all around, 12" sub, 500 watt amp.
Misc:dieselsite coolant filter, max ac assist, BRV, IHD,gauges, CCV

honestly the diel runs better at hotter temps the diesel combusts easier which is making the motor work easier some sort. my clinmate is very hot and i go to az and mexico at times the 203* is the way to go imo and by using it first hand, my truck works hard and it doesnt ever overheat with a good water pump and a new 203* thermostat you can gain 1 to 2 mpg and a noticable difference in the truck and the way it runs/feels, if your lower the temps it would do the opposite.? anyways heres a bump for any PROFESSIONAL advice! cant wait to get my term modded 17*

bumping this back from the dead, I am doing a coolant swap soon still thinking about buying one of these.. Anyone have any experience with it?

It has been stated that IH designed this engine to run with the 203 stat. Some Ford goober must be responsible for the drop to 195 or whatever the OEM puts in. Just like Ford screwed up the CCV system and also the top radiator hose routing THROUGH the freaking belt!

Yeah I know about the IH initial design for the engine to run with the 203 stat, just was wondering if due to tunes upgrades ect... if anyone has benefited from this style of tstat.

Only difference with the 203 is the fan comes on sooner which can't be helping mileage. I might try the 180 if I don't go back to stock on my next flush.
