Clean CB Radio Installation Ideas
Hey guys,
I'm looking into mounting a CB in my '02 F350 CC PSD 6spd. I had a Cobra in my '99 several years ago with 6' whips on the toolbox etc. Now I'm looking to do a clean install that is not quite so obvious. Thinking about a single lower profile antenna and a clean install of the radio inside the truck. Its a 6spd and I have a brake control box under the dash. I may end up moving the brake box to mount the CB there since space is limited with the 6spd. I wanted to see if anyone would post up pics of their installations / ideas for a clean install. Thanks! |

I'm just in the process of installing mine on the left side of the steering column just below the parking brake release. I'm of the opinion that a CB (like a home stereo should not be a piece of furniture) nor should it stand out like a sore thumb. The newer small CB's tuck out of the way nicely in this location.
Running the power wire and antenna wire up through the factory cut hole in the door frame above the top hinge also made things easy. Tying in the electrical to the upfitter switch makes it even nicer.....Will post some pics later once the install is complete.

I agree with MD402, I dont like stuff on my dash and wires hanging all over the place. I build everything in as much as possible. excuse the cell phone pic:

Wow Joel, I have looked at a ton of CB install pics trying to get some good ideas. I have to say yours is the best looking I've seen.

Thanks.
The cubby there always annoyed me because it was too small and anything you put there fell out when you hit the skinny peddle. So out came the dremel and in went the CB |

This is how I did mine, If I tuck the mic wires up I don't even know it's there. Rearview mirror still works fine.

you could install a single dinn stereo and a single dinn CB. I did that in my expedition using a cobra 18WXII (I wanted the NOAA stations) and it looks clean.
