Cat removal

I have a 2001 F250 and was thinking of installing a new exhaust that is for systems without a Cat. Is there any sort of running issues that I may run into by removing the Cat from my truck (other then legal). Did 2001's come with or without Cat's? Mine did and I have seen on pages about with or without Cat as an option for exhaust. Thanks for any advise.

No running issues, back pressure through the exhaust (excluding turbo) just hampers diesels. If you have an 01 it shouldn't have a cat. It MAY have if is was a manual trans.

just picked up a 99 F350, had a cat on it, seems no rhyme or reason to when they put them on or not, this was a Texas delivered truck new, some say that if they were supposed to been shipped to CA, that they were supposed to have them though, no legal issues here by removing it which i already have done w a 4" turbo back and muffler delete then a 6" tip, sounds great.

oh yeah forgot Cali but also the e99's got cat's slapped on em seemingly at random
