Does the radio antenna retract?
Mine looks like it has 2 segments, but gently tugging on it didn't do anything. My parking garage is 7 feet, and my antenna smacks a few beams so I'd like to lower it a bit if it's possible.
Thanks! 2002 F-250 XLT Supercab LB |

Factory antennas that I have seen on my 2 trucks were a single piece mast with a plastic fairing over the lower half. You should be able to buy a shorter mast to fit the factory base at Pep Boys or somewhere. I remove mine to put on a care cover for long term parking. Just pull up lightly on the plastic fairing and it will slide up the mast and expose the base. use a small crescent wrench to remove the mast from the base.

If its the factory one then no of does not retract. It probably looks like it does because they put a rubber sleeve on it that pulls up and reveals the nut to take off the antenna.

Just pop the ball off the tip Use some good fence pliers to cute it and file it down pop the ball back on .
If the ball seems loose use some super glue to hold it on .. |
