suspension lift question

Hey guys I have an 02 f-250 crew cab long bed 4x4 with the 7.3L. I have a buddy with a 04 f-250 crew cab reg bed 4x4 with the 6.0L. He has the Fabtech 5.5" lift on it, wants to go back to stock and offered to swap out for my stock parts. I looked on the fabtech website and saw the p/n for the 6.0 front leafs and 7.3 were different. So I called and asked. Guy on the phone said the 7.3 was 400lbs heavier and needed stiffer front springs to achieve the lift. He said they used to be the same but changed them later on. Everything I've found on the net says the 7.3 weighs in at 920lbs dry and the 6.0L 966lbs with oil. What do you guys think? Should I go for it? Is there any other differences I need to be concerned about? Thanks in advance
