finally found a 6 speed 4x4 CCLB SRW
I have been looking for months for one that was even in the next state let alone my own state (CA) and finally found one. it is a 2001 7.3 6spd Crew, Long bed has eletric 4x4 (wish it had manual transfer case) SRW, it is the Dark green which i wasnt too thrilled about at first but i am starting to like it alot, not too many out there it seems.
This leads me to the reason for this thread It has 146K on the dash i have read somewhere that i should be replacing injectors? is this something that will just stop one day? or will this begin to fail? Is there anything else besides the normal things like batteries, fluids in everything bumper to bumper, ect. I have also noticed people replacing water pumps, i assume this will start weeping before it completely goes out right? I understand how to work on gas motors but i am just not sure how much of this knowledge is going to cross over. ANY ADVISE will be appreciated. Thanks |

Theirs no need to replace injectors unless their is something wrong with them. Treat em' right and they will last a long time (279,000 on all 8 factory injectors
BTW being on a forum like this is a great way to make your truck last forever, lots to be learned. WELCOME!!!! |

Starts pretty good but i have only had it for less than a week so i think i need to hear a few other peoples truck compared to mine. it does have AFE intake and 4 inch exhaust. No Chip as of right now and i am not sure if i should.
Is this something that is safe? No leaks, truck was from Arizona and is all and all is great condition, just leveling lift which I think makes it look alot better I just dont want to miss anything, i changed all the fluids in axles, tarnfer case, transmission, engine, and coolant. I will just say thankr ight now for all the responses in advance i am greatful for any knowledge that is discussed. JP San Diego CA. |

Get a custom tuned chip for the computer...it will make a world of difference and I guarentee will be the best bang for the buck mod you can do. I am going to get mine from PHP but there are many other vendors that sell custom chips.

THANKS FOR THE INPUT REGARDING THE TUNE.
i think i have made up my mind and i am going to go with the Tony Wildman 4 OR 6 POSITION, i have noticed that some of the programs that are offered would be geared towards auto trans such as heavy tow, sled pull, ect. I think i am going to go with Stock, Economy, Extreme, and high idle. |

Whoever said they need to be replaced at 150ishK is a dumbass. Mine have 147K on them and I don't plan on replacing them anytime soon, nor am I having any issues with them.
