trailer lights

I have a wiring problem also, I have the factory hookup with 7 and 4 hookup, and I have no power even to the wiring before the factory harness plug. I have checked all my fuses any help would be greatly appreciated. I also do not have backup lights.

Hmm you should have power if you have lights cause its tied into that circuit. Check all your connections and make sure they are tight and no corrosion. Also I believe you back up lights might be seperate bulbs so check to make sure those aren't burnt out.

Your trailer light connector is on the same circuit as the rest of the back lights on your truck. Now if you do not have backup lights then it could be something with the switch. If it is not reading your in reverse then it will not turn on the back up lights.

Yes the bulbs are on a different circuit and they are different bulbs then the rest of the back lights. It is possible to have them burned out.

Your trailer light connectors make sure they are not correded at all. Any corrission will cause trailer light failure. Check the wiring, check the connectors and if they are correded use some sandpaper 100 grit and clean them up. Also put some dielectric grease on the connectors to prevent corrission.

Thanks guys, figured it out, my truck did not have the light hookup on it when I bought it, so I borrowed my buddies. His truck is an 02 and mine is an 00. Ford must have changed pin locations in the harness, because the pins in his plug do not line up where mine needs them to. Does anyone know where I can get on, I have checked local auto parts stores and even a local RV dealer and they say it is Ford only, Ford wants $152 bucks for a 2 foot harness with both plugs.

check with U-Haul, they've always had the wiring harness that I've needed in the past...not saying that they'll have yours though. If the RV dealer doesn't have it you may have to go with Ford...that or ebay.
