Runs rough and smokes

Hello, I'm new to this board and would like to pick your guys brains a little. My 7.3L F350 dually just started running rough and smoking at low speeds like when down shifting to go around a turn or taking off from stop light. It hesitates at that time too.Started it up this morning and it rattled and smoked.Heavy fuel smell.Runs pretty good at freeway speeds, but not as good as before. The wife put fuel in it after a barrel race and thats when it seemed like this started.I'm suspecting bad fuel.I have a Dodge with a cummins in it and had a real similar problem. That one turned out to be a bad lift pump and injector pump. The Ford has no check engine light or water in fuel lights on. Has anyone gone through this or have any ideas? Thanks for any help.

Try checking fuel pressure to see if you may have a blockage. Check all of the wiring harnesses on top of the engine. Especially the ones going into the valve covers. I would recommend getting an injector buzz test and cylinder contribution test done.
