That is crazy for a pump you are correct. I thought our trucks had an injection pump that increases the fuel pressure for the injectors. Like the old chevys. Had a supply pump on the side of the engine and then a pump that increases the fuel pressure.

No I don't think so the hpop takes engine oil and boosts the pressure to around 3000 psi give or take some and that is what fires the injectors hydraulically or the mechanical part of course there is the electrical part as well. As far as I know the 7.3's only have one fuel pump that feeds the fuel from the tank to the engine. I am wrong all the time so Im sure someone will chime in and give the correct info lol

Ok how about we get marc to do a write up on the fuel injection system. That would be sweet.

I don't know how it works. But I do know the the injectors are controlled by the IDM.

my solution?
(Crankshaft Control Sensor)
it never gave me any trouble after that
takes 5min. to put one in
