I might be missing something here, but i've got an older edge evolution.
It's a programmer, not a chip so there is no "installing" it.
Just plug it in to the consumer data port, and follow the instructions on the screen.

Make sure you put your old one back to stock first.

As far as I know, That is it.
Return the old one to stock, and plug in the new one and program it.

I don't think it would have to be reflashed, but i'm not sure.
May want to wait for some of these other guys to post. I've never changed from one programmer to another.

Good Luck!

How new is it?
Did they redisign it?
If it is a programmer, you do not leave it plugged in.
You just plug it in, pick the setting you want to run on, and unplug it.
The programmer will guide you through the whole thing. It's real easy, and takes about 5 min.

Where did you buy it from?

It is very easy, Plug into the OBII conector, Route the cable under stearing column and up to the dash, Install the pod mount, plug in to the monitor. Yes it does need to remain pluged into the OBII. Next drill and tap the manifold @ bottom driverside for EGT probe, route that cable back to the OBII area as it will plug into the plug from the monitor..........VERY SIMPLE
