Auto to 6-speed swap

I have a late 1999 with an E4OD transmission. I'm getting tired of having to baby my truck when pulling a large trailer in order to keep my transmission healthy. Does anyone know what is involved in swaping a ZF-6 into my truck?

The tranny, clutch brake pedal assembly and most important, floor pan that will fit a 6-speed. You should have a 4r100 not the e4od. You should give Brian a call at BTS (Brians Truck Shop) in Arkansas. He builds the most bulletproof tranny in the world. Would be cheaper and easier to go that route than swappipn.

I have 40 foot toy hauler and thought the same thing so I called the nearest ford dealer and they told me you have to switch electronics and all kinds of stuff. total they estimated $8-10,000. Way cheaper to buy built auto tranny for $3-6000 depending on what you want. 02 ford-toy hauler

Yep, you need to call Brian and sat up a date for him to rebuild yours while you wait. Brians Truck Shop
He can get you out most of the time in one day if you are there when he opens. It takes him most of one day to do it, and put the 6.0 cooler on it. He does 6 speed to Auto swaps
You will be glad you did.
