Mine didn't have one. Sounds like they should do more research, if where you live has no diesel emissions, then there is no restriction to anything. That is how I perceive it. Who cares what's coming out the exhaust on a diesel anyway?!?! If there was a CAT and you removed it and put a section of pipe in it's place, it would be very noticeable to the rest of the exhaust work? You shouldve told them you did an EGR delete too as they were walking out.

Take it from a tech. The only SD 7.3's that had them are the 99's and a couple early 00's. THAT IS IT! The rest had a FACTORY cat delete pipe of which can be purchased at the ford dealer for about $75. When the 6.0's came out they brought the cats back.
