Flywheel replacement?

I have a friend that owns a 7.3 /auto trans and needs his flywheel replaced. Is there gonna be any special tools/equipment that im gonna need to do the swap other than typical sockets, wrenchs, jacks stands, etc. TIA

no special tools needed. just unbolt it and dont let it fall on you. and to get the pilot bearing out just use a socket and a hanmer.

As this is an automatic I think you are refering to the flexplate.
The trick is to unbolt the converter from the flexplate first then run a length of mechanics wire across the bell housing to hold the converter in the front of the trans.
then remove the bellhousing bolts removing the trans complete with the converter.
If you remove the the trans without the converter and try to reinstall the trans seperate it is almost impossible to allign the pump shaft into the previously installed converter.

Good lock
