Toyo MT q's...
1) Where is everybody buying their toyo mt's from online? Everyone who sells tires around me locally wants waaaaaayyyy too much for them.
2) Is anyone out there running 265/75r16 mt's? I was thinking of getting 285/75r16's but how bad would those drop my mpg and how do they do in snow? I'm thinking the 265's will cut through snow a little better... 3) Could those of you running 285's on stock rims/suspension post a pic? 4) How many miles is everyone getting out of their mt's? Thanks guys, this site is great! |

i bought mine from tiresdirect.net. i think i saved around $400 compared to anyone locally. plus at the time nobody had any either. if you can ship to a business address freight is decent. im running 33's on 17 inch rims. i have about 5000 miles on them and the only wear i can see is the whiskers are gone. cant answer the snow question, sorry.

I just ordered some 315/75/16's two days ago. They should be here thursday but won't be going on till I get the ball joints replaced. I have everything to do it so maybe next monday I will have the time. I can't wait to get them on the truck, I have heard nothing but good stuff about them, just make sure to rotate and keep up on the alignment and they will last for a long time. I found mine on ebay, not many places had the size I wanted. total ended up being 1250 shipped, so not to bad for toyo mt's I think.

no thats not a bad price from what i have seen. i think i am going to something similar for my next set because i want to change rims as well. ebay does have some good tire and wheel packages cheaper then anybody local to me. i cant remember the name off the top of my head but you can order them directly from the company too. they just happen to have an ebay store as well.

bump this back up, I've heard of people getting really low mileage out of these...anybody have this kind of experience with toyo mt's? Ive seen both good and bad reviews...I'm going to get 285/75r16's...I would think they would last a long time as long as I rotate (how often?) and stay on top of psi...

the 285's fit fine, that's the size on my red truck... worn out freebies... even toyos, but not the MT's.

i have been very happy with mine so far, they are almost up for rotation, i will probably not wait for 5000 miles next time. i think i will shoot for 3000 instead. i have been really happy with mine even though i still have not had them off road yet. should be close to 5k on them so far and the only way i can tell they are worn is the whiskers are gone. the horror stories i have seen all seem related to not rotating and watching the psi, i check mine religiously on the truck, bike, and wifes car.

Had mine almost a year and no noticeable wear. They were good in the snow, up here in the north east it was a record setting winter. I had them off road in the snow and just plain off raod w/ no probs. would buy them again
