I've always wondered so now I'll ask. Does something happen whenever you send an email to these people? Do they somehow open your email and then they are able to trace information about you once they open the email for like identity theft or something? Or do they ask you to send them money? Surely nobody would really send money........to any kind of ad like this, PowerStroke vehicle or not.........Right??????

They ask for a Western Union money order and give you a run around. Or they ask for your bank information and a wire transfer then give you the run around. Basically like the rich Nigerian relative schemes, but they've moved to CL.

No, I haven't done it because I recognize spam, but I've heard the horror stories.

Which is why there's the flag feature. If you see spam on CL, please flag and save people who may not know better from a grave mistake.

Sadly people do send them money thats why they do it. It is rampant in mosly african countries where there is little to no law enforcement to track them down. They arent hackers looking for info. They usually reply with a story about how theyre in the military and deployed overseas, getting divorced, and just want to sell their vehicle, and their vehicle is on a military base. Just send the money and theyll have it trailered to you. They even set up a fake paypal link that you click on with a log in (you can type anything and it'll pretend to log you in) and you think you're covered but the money goes staight to their overseas account. Pretty good scam but they are stupid for always asking for such a low price.
