HPOP resevoir screen??
I am getting ready to change my HPOP and was gonna get all new gaskets. I can get the resevoir gasket with or with out the screen in it. Witch one should I get? I know the screen would would help incase any debree got through the filters but would the screen slow oil flow?

IMO With! and try to get the upgraded version of the screen.

Your HPOP res is fed oil strait from the pan until about 6psi or so is built in the LPOS. That's unfiltered oil. The screen is the only thing defending the IPR and injectors during cold starts. |

Thats very interesting,I did not know that. How does the oil get bypassed untill 6 psi is built?

There's a spring in the oil manifold that doesn't depress until 6psi.
It's on the front of the motor, just behind the front cover, drivers side. As oil moves out of the LPOP, it hits that spring and diverts into the HPOP res. Once pressure is built, it pushes the spring back and continues on it's merry way through the oil manifold to the filter, then on to the rest of the motor. |
