steering box shaft play

Hey guys,

Got into an accident in december and i am just getting around to fixing it now. It turns out its worse than i thought it was my frame swayed a little bit so no the thought of me doing all the work myself is out of the picture.. brought it to the shop the otherday and they looked over everything and told me my steering box has up and downward shaft play. a little less than a quarter inch. the truck does pull ever since the accident but i think that is from the wheel camber more so than the steering box. is 1/2 inch of up ward and downward shaft play somthing to worry about? the shop put a bar from the leafspring to the bottom of the pitman arm and moved it up and down.
