Headlight interchange
What headlamps will interchange into my 2000 SD without modifications and still use stock bulbs and wiring? Also are the newer ones one pc. units? Thanks, Fred

2002-04 units will still be 2 pc, and require no modification of the hedder panel. They are brighter, and have the clear turn signal lens. However, I have installed the 1 pc. later style 2005-07 lights in mine, and it's not hard to do. The light output is much better, in my opinion. The lights use a higher wattage bulb, and an aftermarket relay style harness that plugs into your stock one for proper control is also a peice of cake to install. The whole set up, lights with bulbs, and the new harness cost me about $300 total. Worth it, and I plan to do the same thing to my newest addition, a '99 F250.

go on ebay and buy a one piece headlight that fits our trucks that doesnt require new harness etc..there just look alike 05-07 lamps

I used the 02-04 headlights & put silverstar bulbs in with the relay harness from GOS Performance, it made a BIG difference from the old frosty ones.

thats what i did also, except i bought some aftermarket clears markers. the 02-04 markers would go really well with the 99-01 headlights if someone didnt want to change out their headlights, just to get rid of the orange markers.

I am thinking towards the 1 pc. clear models, the ones I have seen would go well with my chrome grille....Fred

The 05-07 1 piece headlights are sweet. I put them on my 99 before I did the full 05 front end. They did look pretty good with the chrome grille. Here's a pic for you.

Don't mean to hijack this thread, but polarbear, where did you get your headlights from?
