5w50 Synthetic

Changing my oil today and was planning on going synthetic. I see alot of guys running 5w40. Any issues with 5w50 Mobil One.

I am not sure if that's a diesel rated oil, or at least rated for the PSD engines. I'd stick with the Mobil 1 TDT 5w-40. However, if you want a 50 weight oil, Mystik is a partial synthetic 15w-50 rated for the PSD and has lots of positive feedback. I believe it is made by Citgo.

thats heavy oil. but as said make sure whatever you're getting is CI4 or CJ4 rated.

15/40 is what a lot of guys run. That 5w50 shouldn't be heavier than that. What's the difference between 5w40 and 5w50 as far as viscoity is concerned?

From what I found all Mobile one oils meet diesel specs with exception to an anti foaming additive which can be bought from Navistar.
