I thought the more fuel made a bigger fire which in turn made the turbo spin harder making the more boost feeding more air to the fire etc... So the programmer told the injectors to open quicker etc trying to get more fuel to the fire quicker. I am under the impression (doesn't mean I am right) that the programmer does the same thing as the resistor mod only it does it slowly so the truck doesn't fall on its face like it does with the resistor mod.
