Steering hissing when at full turn
Im getting a hissing sound when I have my steering wheel turned all the way. For example when making a U-turn or a sharp right turn. It does it regardless of the outside temp or the temp of the motor. The hissing literally sounds like it is coming from behind the steering wheel. Is this normal? Has anyone every came across this? Thanks.
P.s. I replaced the power steering pump recently due to it going out and having a whining noise. The hissing noise has been happening for about 120,000 miles already. |

Power steering has a relief valve that lifts when pressures become too high. This will happen when wheels are turned to full lock. When it lifts it is normal for it to make a slight hissing sound.
