!0K mod with no tunes or gauges?

I want to do the 10K mod. I do not have any gauges or tunes. Will this hurt my truck. I saw someone post at one time about now going below a 6k without having exhaust temp gauges.

i have a full set of gauges, and with a 10k mod, i barely noticed any changes, or at least nothing to get at ALL worried about.

and dont go below 10k if you like your motor. they run like crap and lope really nasty, if you have to do any "real" cold starts with your truck, you will serisouly regret it.

I stuck it in there today just to see how it is. The only thing good about it was it made a kinda cool sound in the ehaust and maybe had a little more snap on the throttle. Other than that it has a nasty idle. If i pulled up next to someone of the high way with a truck sounding like mine I would think it was broke. The only reason I would consider keeping it is for a better fuel mileage. If it does that. What exactly is the mod supposed to do.

basically you take a 10K resistor and plug it into the the red/grey and green/blue wire on your pcm plug. These are your sending and recieving wires and if you put a resitor connecting the 2 it addes resistance wich tricks your pcm into giving more fuel. I dont see any advantages of it. Just a nasty truck shaking idle.
