oil pressure

I have a 99 7.3 that broke down in december, it has been in the shop so long I have at times forgotthat I own it except for the bill that comes due. OK..... The Mechanic thought it might be the high pressure oil pump after replacing the pressure regulator but than realized that oil was not staying in the pump.. It runs now but after 10 min. or so it dies I have replaced the under valve cover harnesses the cps and the hp oil regulator. any ideas.?

sounds like to me you need a technician not a part changer that is costing you a ton of money. The dealer still works on the 7.3's and they have the proper tools to diagnose the problem hopefully the first time.

I can't be any other help maybe scruffy or marc will have some ideas

First thing that would need to be done is to check the base engine oil pressure....do an oil change, and then verify that the HP resevour is staying full. Sounds to me like unless you want to take this on yourself that i agree with the above statement that a dealer is where you should take it. Tough to argue with experience and the right tools!!
