Fuel Gauge Problem

I Have A 2003 F250 Diesel, I Noticed Yesterday When I Filled It Up, Went To Take Off, The Fuel Gauge Still Red That I Only Had A Quarter Of A Tank Of Diesel, It Slowly Worked Its Way To Full On The Way To Work This Morning, Anybody Have Any Problems Like This Before???

Did you leave the truck running when you filled up? Mine won't read the correct amount until you shut it off and then restart it.

yes it was off, it took about 40 miles of driving before it slowly went up to the full mark
