Dont know the exact dates. But pop the hood and see if you have an Air intake heater if you do its a late build also check the airbox if it pulls from the front it should be a late build

Easy way to tell. If you have the the small square powerstroke V-8 badge on the front fender by the headlights, then you have the 99. If you have the rectanglular powerstroke badge on the door down by the body line then you have a 99.5 the cut off date was in the summer of 99.

Also Welcome to the ORG.

The door badges are not a good indacator, as that is one of the first things most people change... Nor is the air box as most were replaced with a recall...

The 100% sure way to tell the late to early 99's is from the AIH... No way to mess up there, early 99 did not have it, late did...

The cutoff date is 12/7/98. Anything built after that date is 99.5

Also think you can take a look at the end tanks of your inter cooler...if they are aluminum...EARLY 99...if they are plastic.....LATE 99..

It's good to know this stuff, so when you go get parts....I just put a transmission in a guys 99, and rplaced the leaking up-pipes while i was in there, and even with the VIN # the dealer could not tell if it was early or late...and the up-pipes are differnt ....

Sorry, a little misconception again... The aluminum end tanks kept going thru 03 in all excursions, and into late 2000 in pick-ups as the supplies ran low on the plastic tanks.
