Transmission Module

Hello everyone this is my first post on this site so if I get it wrong let me know.
I live in Australia and have an 04 F250 (I believe 03 in US) and I am planning mild upgrades to the vehicle so will be asking a few questions over time.

I have been advised that the Transcommand module improves the performance of the auto transmission and removes that terrible lag when reverse gear is selected. It all sounds good but I have also heard that it can damage the standard transmission so can anyone throw any light on this.

I have the transcommand and have not had any problems with it in almost
20k miles. And now it is coupled with the TS chip which has shift programs on it. I can't complain. I haven't heard of anyone having any problems with it as far as long term. And the fact that it's been around for a long time should prove that. If anyone has any problems that can be directly related to the transcommand, please post.

'99 Ford F-350 crew cab, dually, 2x4, Banks Monster Exhaust-muffler deleted, Banks Six Gun Tuner, , TS performance 6 position chip stk, Hi idle, 50, 75, 100, 140, Banks Transcommand, wastegate mod, Map Sensor Fix from SP Diesel, Zex Diesel Nitrous kit with purge, bottle heater, and blow down, next step---H2E, need to install- bully dog shift kit, 6.0 intercooler

Thanks for the responses to my enquiry and my welcome to the forum. It sounds like the Transcommand module should only improve the operation of the transmission and it is heartening to know it is unlikely to cause any problems.

Any idea of how much they are selling for?

Over here in the U.S., Anywhere from $350-$499 I 've seen them. your best bet would be to call Banks and ask on the price, because they'll sell them direct and then do a search and see what companies are Banks dealers and whos running the deals. But I say call Banks because you'll have a startong point on price, as I've experienced, just because Banks makes it doesn't mean you'll get a good deal.

Thanks RJacks258 that gives me somewhere to start and I will see how I go from there. I know they sell the unit here in Australia to so I will see what they are asking for it as the difference might not be worth the hassle importing from the US.
