opinions please....

My truck is a 2000 so it has the forged rods, it currently has 63000 miles and is not my daily driver. I use it to cruise in and haul stuff on the weekends. It tows my antique tractors occasionally on a 25ft triaxle gooseneck. I plan on keeping the truck till its wheels fall off. It will prolly take me a few years to get it where I want it because I'm 23 and just bought a house. I want to be smart about my build up cause I don't want to waste my money on stuff that doesn't perform. It would be nice to end up with a truck that can lay down some good numbers on a dyno, run around a 13 to 14 second quarter mile, and still be able to tow a few thousand or 10 pounds.

I am considering buying stage 3 hybrids and detuning them to run with my stock turbo till I can get the money for a better one. I figure detuned hybrids would work pretty darn well with my stock SD oil. Then I also have the fuel system and tranny to worry about before the big power comes. Then maybe big oil and high hp tuning although I don't really need big oil for hybrids I know it would prolly help drivability. I'm interested in the DIY stealth kit just cause I like to build my own stuff and it saves me on the GREEN. I'm also planning on prolly changing my tuning accordingly, as my mods change.

How does all this sound guys, is it a decent plan or am I just plain retarded?

I'm interested in opinions from guys who have done their research and have started modding their own rig above the typical chip, intake, and exhaust.

In short, anyone had any experience with the DIY stage 3 injectors?

I must say brother, that does indeed sound like a solid plan. The hybrid will run good with your stack HPOP if it is still making good pressure and i will give some good gains. This sounds alot like the predicament I am in. I am also 23 with recent home purchase, and I am looking to take mine beyond the basic mods. Your plan almost mirrors mine, so I think it is a good one! HAHA! Good luck with your mission!

Sounds like a plan to me... have you run it past Joe... he'd know how the sticks will perform with the stock HPOP.

BTW... you gonna do anything about that trans, or just wait on it to grenade?

Sounds pretty good to me bud! I'm still not 100% on the injectors but from what I have seen/read that should be a good solid build!

this is my 2 cents start with a custom chip and guages then move to a fuel system like a fass fuel system the big oil, some stage 3 injectors, and finish it off with somethin like a h2e turbo i think it would be best to start with suppourting mods them move to the mods that would need the big oil and fuel but that just my opinion
