Crashed the truck today

Did some hydro planing today. hit a guardrail going 70 and spun across the high way into a ditch. truck handled it like a dream I am perfectly fine. damage is not too bad either. need a bumper grille and side marker.. both of my front tow hooks sheared off as well though that.. was kind of strange. im going to bring it to a shop and get an estimate i hope they check the ball joints and say they went bad from it because ive been needing new ones.. anyone know if you can do your own work with insurance money? i want to try and do an 05 conversion..

Insurance cuts you a check and you can do whatever you want with it.

Alright. Im really surprised the tow hooks sheared off it was only a guard rail... granted i was going 70 and they side swiped but i figured the plastic bumper valence would come off before the tow hooks

yeah insurance company will give you a check and you do with it wat u want. ive been in the salvage and rebuildable industry since im a kid and everytime you think youve seen the strangest things somethng else comes along that makes even less sense so in the case of your tow hoks dont give it too much thought lol

I just hope the frame isn't bent, if there was enough side-ways force to snap the tow hooks, any chance it bent the frame, tweeked it sideways? Hope not, but you should have it checked for sure...

Not even that bad in terms of what happened. if i was in anything but a truck i would probably be hurt.

and i really hope the frame is not bent. it hit pretty hard.. enough to spin me across the highway and into a ditch and finally stopped when i hit a dirt embankment. no one stopped either. some people these days. non the less i drove it out of the ditch and back up and onto the road. I hope insurance is nice to me so i can get an 06 front end and fix the slop in my front end after this incident
