Injector/Valve Question

I just purchased an 01 7.3L with around 98k miles on it, it pretty meticulous shape. A couple of qucik questions:
- I heard that the injectors need to be replaced or rebuilt on these older strokers around 100k miles or so, due to the low sulfur fuels. Is that true?

- Secondly, on an old Cummins I had (sorry), I had to have the valves adjusted every 50K miles or so. Is this the same with the strokers?

if you run an additive such as diesel kleen(summer) or diesel aid(winter) or ATF, something that will add the lubricity back into the fuel, and keep you fuel bowl drained for water and keep the filter changed you shouldnt need to replace injectors.

So will the Stanadyne type of product work? Also, I used to dump ATF into my cummins fuel tank once a month to help keep the injectors clean. Will this work the same in the stroker/

yes, but as far as cleaning goes, the stanadyne is a much better product but alot more expensive.

As for valve adjustment, don't worry about it. The 7.3 uses hydraulic lifters, so no adjustment necessary.
