Why would my truck have a long lead injector?
I opened up my driver side valve cover last night to complete replacement of my glow plugs and found to my great surprise a LL injector in cylinder 8 with a blue connector. The guy I bought the truck from wasn't mechanical and just got it serviced regularly. Also he never had any injector or engine problems. I'm curious how the injector got replaced. Did Ford issue a recall? Or were some trucks made with LL's in cylinder 8?
I'm happy that it's there - just curious how it happened because I was planning on doing the no-cackle upgrade myself. Thanks, Mark.

I'm no expert, but what I've read on this forum is that #8 is different because it is supposed to be quieter since it's parked right there in front of the driver.

Long lead was added in early 2000 to all motors... Nothing to get excited about. I would be more suprized if it were not there.
