When it comes to buying your fuel....
Are you particular about where you buy it or just get it wherever it's cheapest?
Have you ever noticed that places you buy it and get better fuel mileage? |

I go wherever the big trucks go and don't mind paying a few cents more. Last time I filled up at an "in town" station, my mileage was in the crapper, and nothing had changed with my driving.

I run diesel fuel from the major refineries (Chevron, Exxon, Sinclair etc). I do notice a mpg drop going to discount fuel (Maverik, Flying J) I lose close to 2mpg with the cheaper fuel.

Cheapest usually for me. I get consistent 14.5 mpg regardless- I hammer down most of the time to get around these A-Hole Utah drivers. I notice no real difference in the way she runs.
Having said that, the last 20 fill ups have been at the same place- so I don't remember what the outcome was of any other places fuel. I also run a pint of 2 stroke oil in a tank full of fuel once in a while, she gets nice n quiet that way. Runs smoother for me. That's another thread though! |

I try to buy from places that sell a lot of fuel. And I have heard (don't know if its true) if the pump is going unusually slow the filter is full and has a greater chance of pumping bad fuel into your tank.

I use speedway which is mostly a midwest thing but they have the best prices and I never noticed any issues. I get better than 16mpg at all time so I am happy. A lil over 18 on the highway too.
