~*~What the hell posessed Ford to!??!...~*~

As much as we love the engineers for building our trucks, sometimes you just have to wonder "what the hell posessed them to do that?!".

So, lets make a list of things on our pickups where you have to ask "WTH?!" when something is over engineered, simply ridiculous, or should have had more thought put into it from the factory.

I'll start by saying what the hell posessed them to use RED LOC-TITE on the 2010 Driver's side tailgate pin bolts?! I traded my Louvered tailgate for a 2010 (with camera, which I'll probably never use) yesterday, and the two T-50 Torx bolts holding the driver pin on took both of us (big guys, I'm 240 lbs, other guy was probably 260+) reefing on his 18" ratched in order to break those bolts loose! Why the hell woul you need RED loc-tite on those?!? I think blue, or at most green would have been more than sufficient!!!

On a side note, I have a much less "Grandpa-ey" tailgate now and am happy about that, and he was happy he had a louvered 5th wheel gate!

the EGR system is under engineered on the 6.0, what is up with that?

also why did ford stop using the 03 turbo? that whistle is a ford signature.

if you heat up a loctited bolt with a soldering iron it will break the loc-tite free

Well, we were struggling to find a T50 torx, and definitely did not have a soldering iron, let alone anywhere to plug it in, lol. I know if you heat the stuff it comes free, we just didn't have that opportunity!

thats true. I have a butane soldering iron that I keep in the truck. it comes in handy sometimes

the dana 135 in the rear of f550s.... Makes me insane the amount of money I'd have to spend to go from the 4.88 to 4.11. I'm going to put a dana 80 in it, and regear it, and it's still going to be half the price of just regearing the 135.
