new mysterious oil leak,,,,in valley below HPOP question
so almost directly under the HPOP, straight down from the non-servicable oil plug on the bottom side of the HPOP, this is going straight down into the ENGINE BLOCK NOT THE HPOP, or the valley maybe,,,there is a 1/2" pipe plug, with a 3/8's square drive in it and i noticed oil just oozing out of it at idle and even more at a higher idle. (i had just pressure washed the top of the engine in preperation to work on the HPOP non-servicable plug).
so is this just a pipe plug for a low pressure oil galley?...it is pretty tight already so please no one ask if i tried to tighten it. i have pictures but this site won't let me attach them for some reason.
does anyone know if this is just what it seems to be? an easy to fix pipe plug that just needs some thread sealant? could i be that lucky?
i mean first i bought a set of diesel site valley boots cause i though that's where the oil leak was coming from,,,then i was thinking an oil rail plug and a HPOP line. then i was thinking the non-servicable plug on the HPOP. then i was thinking the EBPV accuator piston,,,then i thought the oil reservior gasket.
any help appreciated,,( i did post this on another forum.) i mean confirmation of what i think it is
