yeah I am looking for one too. Mine went out last night. I've heard 5k shipped. I'm in the same boat as you with the price thing, ballin on a budget. Where are you located? Maybe we can get a group buy rate on transmissions! lol

Ok, the BTS is 4.5K. How much is an OEM transmission? that ought to give a better perspective on price.

Ford Reman is gonna be about half of that, with a 3 yr 100K warranty.

Ford Reman thats correct about half that with a 3 year warranty.. but when you hit it with some power.. its going to crap out..

if one is going to leave his vehicle stock and only use it occasionally to tow TT under 10K weight, is it justifiable to shell out 4.5K for a BTS ? I am thinking out loud here as mine has 126K miles on the meter and I tow TT about 1500 miles each year. |

If you're going to keep the truck stock, then replace it with stock. If you want to make big power and have a badass tranny that you'll never have to worry about again, get a BTS.

BTS out the door and installed at their shop in Lead Hill will be $5453.66 with the
6.0 cooler, fluid, and tax. My appt is Dec 3rd. At 123,000 the trans started to slip when towing. Get it fixed once and should never need another trans again. If you broke it at 125k and run stock then you should plan on one in another 125k if you go with stock. Go with BTS or other highly modified transmissions and you should never need another one. |
