Buying a 99 F350 PSD...questions??

I am looking at a 1999 F350 Powerstroke but don't know anything about these trucks. I had a Dodge diesel, but I thinkI would lkie to try the Ford.

Anyway, it is a 1999 XL supercab longbed...52,000 miles...5 speed...pretty good condition....was used for towing (has 5th wheel rails in the bed)....and they are asking $14,995.

Seems like a pretty good priice and it is at a very reputable dealer.

Is there anything special about these trucks that I should know??

Thanks in advance....

Welcome Zog Man! I honestly don't know much about the 7.3's so I can't be any help here. Come on 7.3 guys and gals, I know y'all love your rigs, so if you would please give Zog some advice on what to look for, pro's and con's, etc.
Heck I'm interested in learning more about 'em myself, so any advice would be appreciated!

Hey Zog!

Welcome! This thread has some good info on the 99's. http://www.powerstrokeforum.com/foru...thread.php?t=1

A lot of our members have 99's, and they love them. Thats a pretty good deal, does it have 4WD?

Not to cahnge the subject, but here's an interesting 99 story...before the 2001 that I currently drive, my dad had an identical 99....he used it for his materials business and to deliver his rental bobcat...one rainy saturday one of his drivers was coming down the road at about 50mph with the bobcat in tow...he hydroplaned and swirved off the road, just missing a telophone pole. The trailer however did not miss, hit the pole, rolled over and wrapped around, smacking the truck with the bobcat and totaling it...the driver was ok, but the 99 was trashed.....sorry for that digression, just thought you'd like the story...good luck with your 99...

what was even worse than the wreck was the ambulance-chaser towing company that took the truck hostage and wanted to do all the body work...but thats a different story...
