Update on surging, bucking jerking. help please
Well my mechanic pulled a bunch of codes and told me it was my chip messing up my pcm, well we buy a brand new pcm, yeah cost me a pretty penny, truck still drives the same, shutters and bucks while cruising and now even just dies going down the road. rolling threw a parking lot the motor just sounds crazy like its got a hot rod cam in it. ill post some codes he left on a receipt in my truck. im getting tired of not being able to drive me truck, its been over a month now. Any one had any similar experiences?

Is the chip hooked up now? Did you drive it without the chip plugged in? What cam sensor do you have in it? It might be a good idea to see if you can find someone with AE and scan and test your truck.
It sounds like a cam sensor to me.

Thanks for the reply. It ran like garbage and he told me to take the chip off so I did. It ran a little better for a day now worse. Those codes were without chip. I have no clue what cps is in the truck. And he put one in about a year ago I think. Also what is an AE scanner?

I have been searching non stop to find the problem on the forum, my mechanic is out all week for holidays so its up to me, booo haha i read that it could possibly be the injector harness?? is that under the valve covers? maybe the idm? we changed the pcm.

I'm gonna call my buddy at the salvage yard in the morning. They are same for all 7.3 correct? Have you had a problem like this before?

I pulled the wires and it ran without giving me whiplash but did have a ses light as soon as i turned the key on. the truck didnt have much power but im assuming because the plug was pulled. Guess my next step is too plug it up and see if it bucks again in the morning then start looking for a sensor. ebay has some new ones for 75 shipped. wish i could find one local for that price.
