How to change block heater?

Hoping it was just a bad cord but had my mechanic tested it & it is the blocker itself that's bad. Ruined a starter & 2 batteries last winter trying to get her going in minus Burrr temps so I want to get it changed before the Burrr comes again.
How do you change this little bugger? Looks like it should be straight forward but would just like to know what I am getting myself into.

Very easy, it's under by the oil filter. Just need a wrench and some replacement coolant, if your quick you wont loose much but it's a little messy.

I thought the block heater heated the engine oil. I figured I would have to drain the oil. Well there you go. Good to know its easy to change but I'm sure I will get a coolant bath.
