10K Mod Issues?

I have been reading about the 10K mod and am thinking about doing it. Its cheap and easy to do. Anyway has anybody had an problems with this mod? How about fuel milage does it increase, decrease or not really make a different. Any other words of advice would be great. Thanks

As long as you don't get too carried away with resistance (be it too low with the "parallel" mod or too high with the "series" mod), you can see a little improvement with the power without causing too much of a sacrifice in idle quality. Keep in mind that there will be no transmission shifting/pressure compensation with this modification, so don't get too hung up on making power and towing if you have an automatic transmission.

You should see a small increase in mileage, but you HAVE to be driving like you want to get better economy. You will burn more fuel by standing on the go-pedal after having the few extra horsepower.

Im not really worried about towing power or anything. Im really really just looking for the snappy throttle response that everyone is talking about. I figure if I do it ill stick with the 10k resistor. I dont know much about it so I don't want to go changeing things up. How about longevity. Has this been know to screw things in the computer up?
