2002 excursion advice
Good day Memebers,
This site is full of knowlegde and here I am asking questions questions again. I have a 2002 excursion with a banks exhaust no cat but has a muffler. Im curious has anyone run a full straight pipe ? good /bad ? does it help with mpg? also I have a superchips tuner and was wondering if there is a better one like bully dog ? I periodically pull a car trailer. Also I cant find anyone in Toronto Canada to install the pilllar pod guages , is there anyone on the other side of the border that does this like Buffalo ? any suggestions ? sorry for the questions but you guys have done it all and Im asking. Thanks for the replies, |

it wont hurt anything to straight pipe it.. it prob would sound better... as for gains it will be very minimal.. nothing you can tell.
as for a tuner.. yes... their are far better tuners out there than a superchips... for a 2002 i recommend a custom tuned chip... as far as gauges are concerned you could always go with something like a edge CS that will only require you to drill and tap your manifold.. everything else it can pick up from the OBD2 port... -Raul |

The truck will sound better straight piped and the turbo will be louder. You MIGHT pickup some mileage like that.
YES, I have a buddy here in springville thats HUGE in the diesel competition world (Gambino Brothers Diesel). If you wanna meet up somewhere, I dunno the Galleria or something, I can drive you out to springville. It's in the middle of nowhere but they know their stuff Brothers Diesel: Brothers Diesel Performance - Pulling Team Also, do custom tunes. They will do worlds of difference for you. |
