Hey brother. Most people will say that the 7.3 is generally a better overall engine than the 6.0. A few design flaws has made the 6.0 susceptable to head gasket failure. having said that, most people will agree that with a few mods, the 6.0 can be made to be just as reliable as the 7.3 with more power, better fuel economy, and a better transmission. The question is whether or not you're in a position to conduct the upgrades (head studs, EGR delete, etc).

I believe the 7.3L is a significantly more reliable motor, heard to many bad things about the 6.0L.
If you want to know what my step fathers 7.3L has been through just ask and the choice would be apparent. |

cheaper & WAY less trouble to put a new or aftermarket trans in the 7.3

new trans.. especially if it is paid off. it is nice not having any notes..
i am planning on upgrading to KR interior and newer body style front end cost so far would be around 2500... a lot cheaper than a newer truck with the same options my X has. |

I say 7.3. I'm tired of hearing my buddy always complaining about his truck screwing up. His will outrun mine but have noticed it will not outlast it...

stay with your 7.3L and get yourself a nice built tranny and go from there. Be must happier in the long run especially if you dont have a truck payment anymore.
