2002 motor in an early 99 truck.

hey guys. i just bought an early 99 superduty with the 7.3 powerstroke with a blown motor. i just picked up a 2002 motor to put in it with turbo, injectors and everything but i have to use the old harness. will it work?? I guess my dad wants to use the old one cause the new 2002 harness had cali emissions. so i just need to know what kind of problems im going to run into and if the old harness will work.. thanks!

oh.. and will i have to have my pcm reflashed?? what about the idm??

Never had to do it personally. It should swap over no problem.
