99-04 4.5" Lift?
I am currently looking at a 4.5" leaf spring hanger kit for my 02 SD! I am wondering if I need to buy a new drop pitman arm or if the stock one will work? Also, will the stock track bar work with this much lift? I would appreciate any input on this, thanks!!!

First im not so sure you can get 4.5" with just a set of hangers. You new leaf springs. Maybe that's what you are getting, but I read and understood it that you were getting just the hangers.
You will need a new pitman arm. The stock one will not work with that much lift. If you are not going to get an adjustable trac bar, you are going to need a tracbar relocation bracket at the very least. You cannot use the stock one with that much lift. You'll also need to either flip your stock brackets for the swaybar end links, or you'll need to buy extended end links. Also, not always necessary but you may want bump stop extensions, and possibly carrier bearing spacer if you have a CCLB. Let me know if you have any other questions. I have a couple threads around somewhere I started with pictures if you need visuals

I sure do appreciate that info!!! I am still not sure about this hanger lift as I have always bought my lifts through 4wheel parts. It is a good deal, but sounds like i am going to be spending more money than it's worth!! Where can I find your other posts with the pics?

My 4" lift install Heres the thread when I got my extended sway bar end links: Check out how shot these are.... I have some more detailed pics of the end link mounting brackets somewhere. The difference between the stock location and flipping them over for a lift ![]() Good Luck with it man |
