Question CPS failure

Associate of mine has had to replace his CPS 6 times. 3 purchased from Ford, 2 from Orileys, 1 from Auto Zone. All within 25k miles.
Anyone had this many problems with their trucks CPS? Any ideas why they keep going out. Bad luck with bad parts is one thing, but this is crazy wrong!
This is his daily driver, only has exhaust and a superchips tuner on it.

I got mine from a International dealer it's dark gray/almost black with a purple o-ring part # 1876736C91. I took out the gray Ford recall one & put this one in & mine runs better.

There's actually a few different CPS's available. This is a pretty informative study of them all.

hmmm guess i might try a drak blue cps cuz i had 2 blacks fail and this grey one i have now is good but not perfect so hopefully the dark blue one will be priced right and work for my truck, can anything else effect the cps? my trucks pedal will just quit and ses light comes on and truck drops to idle after a few pumps of the throttle itll jump back up and be normal, i did also change the pedal position sensor under the dash its new. could this be a problem in my pcm icm ecm??
