Bye, Bye Door Chime!!!

It took me a while to find out how to do this and I just wanted to pass it onto anyone that was interested. I finally got the stupid door and key chime to go away. All you have to do is go under the steering column and looking up at the steering column on the left is a 6-pin connector there. Find the black wire with the pink tracer on it and just clip it and put electrial tape on the ends. DONE!!!! The big question I know that is going to come is what else does that wire do? I DON'T CARE!!! Not really, I checked everything and it is all working except the door and key chime. RIP Chime!!!

Does that stop the headlight chime too?

every truck ive owned and when i first got my diesel,reach under there,rip it out,smash with hammer....throw into woods,gramps hits it with mower......


if you leave your lights on when exiting,you deserve to have drained batteries

The headlight chime still works.

Or if you don't wanna cut wires take the ignition out pull orange piece off and your done no cutting wires takes less than 2 minutes.

I did that and it didn't work, still got the stupid ding when I wanted to listen to the radio. I went as far as to leave out the whole orange piece and that still didn't work. I'm cutting the wire now.

You have to take the metal clip off of the orange piece and reinstall orange piece then it works. Wire sounds good too though.
