Buying Questions 2000 F-350 SRW 4x4 Lariat 186k $13,200

Ok, so I'm completely new to diesels. I've done enough research on this site to know that I want a 99-02 7.3. I've found a few, and they've been selling fast. This is the latest candidate. I'm a little concerned about the mileage, but everything I've been reading suggests this an acceptable mileage for these trucks.

Intended Use: Daily Driver, possibility of pulling 5-10k trailer (horse/travel trailer) in the future. Those trips would be low miles and only 5-10 times per year.

I drive around 20 miles of sometimes rough dirt roads per day. That is my main concern. My Ram 1500's weren't cutting it. I'm hoping the SD will handle that daily abuse better.

I'm just looking for an opinion on the price as I know everybody has talked about quality, performance, etc. all over this forum. Any other advice is appreciated, but don't want to waste anybody's time. Here is the truck.

2000 F-350 4x4 SRW Crew Cab Lariat 7.3
186K miles
$13,200

I'm in Afghanistan, so relying on my wife and father-in-law's assessment. The truck started right up with no smoking. It drove fine and 4x4 worked. The leather is slightly worn (to be expected) and the Trip Computer did not function. Other than that, they said it was a good, comfortable and powerful ride.

Any advice on the price and anything else is appreciated. I wouldn't mind some additional comfort regarding the high mileage either. Thanks - Jason

Mine was a 99 F350 DRW 4x4 with 140k. I paid $14k, but the truck is a hard to find SC LB DRW with a stick. For $13,200 and 186k that truck better be near mint and EVERYTHING better work. Honestly, unless the trans has been rebuilt / replaced lately I wouldn't pay that for an auto truck. Is it rusty at all? If it has rust it's definitely way overpriced.

No rust that they saw. Not positive they checked the chassis. But he looked at the suspension and said it looked original.

There's always some blowby. Price is too high for WA. Should be around 11.
