Question Question about a cali truck ???

im looking at a 2000 ford excursion , it was registured in cali does this mean it has all that pollution crap ? smaller injectors ? i dont know so thats why im asking ......

heres a link to the ex and they got a link to the car fax and i see it was registured in ca ....

well if its regis. in cali then it has to have that crap or it would.. i know i bought my truck in cali from private owner. and i conpared tax price, he paid over 400$ for 1 year on the same truck i paid 80$ for in tucson.. also in the under carriage pic it looks like it doesnt have a CAT

Most of the manufactures make a "one size fits all states" engine nowadays. Only back in the 70's and 80's did they actually manufacture different engines for different states. Plus in the 90's diesels were exempt from SMOG regulations in California.

I agree - A vehicle manufactured for the 2000 year model had to have whatever stuff is required for 2000. And....California didn't start implementing 'SMOG' tests until this year. Even at that, it is only a visual inspection, an OBDII port check and a 'smoke' test.
