K guys hate to be a bother but looking at a high mile "X"

I searched around couldn't find and definitive answers. Im looking for a 00-03 7.3 X the only ones in the area with low miles are way overpriced like 23k for a 00 w/90k on it. There is a close 00 with 336k for only 12k I that leaves plenty for repairs but what can I expect?

normal wear and tear, see whats been done recently, alternator, batteries, wheel berings, pulleys, fuel pump, possibly the turbo, etc. things of that nature will just wear out and probably already have and been replaced. check to see what.

have the tranny checked by a trusted mechanic, look at the turbo for fin damage and shaft play. if you can, get a compression test. if you have compression issues it could mean trouble. it could also just be injector o-rings - no biggie. if all check out, espicialyl compression and tranny i would take it. just expect some parts to be tired. check for leaks and if there are any, post them here.

one thing i like to do is see how well it starts in the cold with a cold motor if its cool where you are right now.

so it is worth looking at? If the interior is not cherry then its not worth owning cause a motor can be replaced or swaped to a 12v cummins but if the seats and window switches and dash and A/C is all ragged out then it kinda makes is all pointless...

12K for a truck that has 336K is WAY TO MUCH!!! I bought my 2000 in Aug 2008 for $12k and it only had 131K on it. I would suggest looking around some more before you buy. Where are you located at? I guess that might be why its expensive...

I got my 2000 550 CC for $6k with 226k miles. So far, tranny and a little body work, and just some little upkeep things but she runs like a raped ape. Work trucks covered in a layer of dirt (that will wash right off) are usually the deals.
