Trailer wiring doesn't work
I got my truck back from the body shop where they replaced the rear bumper, the 7-way trailer electric receptacle (whatever that thing is called), and did some body work on the truck bed. I hooked my travel trailer up Friday night and I am getting good ground, brake lights, left turn signal, and good trailer brake control. No running lights or right turn signal. Everything was working after my wreck and before I took the truck to the body shop. I know this because a few weeks ago I wired up a Wal-Mart bought receptacle as a temporary fix.
That Ford receptacle has a pigtail harness that plugs into the main factory harness. Using a test light, I tested it all the way to the main factory harness and I'm not getting anything from that for the ones that aren't working. The taillights for the truck work fine.
Does anyone know where the plug on the main wiring harness that feeds the trailer electric pigtail harness is "spliced" onto the main taillight electrics? It's possible (probable) that they pulled my truck bed at the body shop and they might not have properly connected another plug somewhere. I would just as soon crawl under there and plug something in as to take it back to the body shop.
Thanks,
Kevin
