not the typical glow plug problem
quick glow plug question guys- i am familiar with the typical glow plug problems with these trucks, but my problem isn't that typical. To get my plugs to cycle, i have to cycle my key a bunch of times sometimes as much as 10 times. put new plugs and relay in at the end of last winter, and when the plugs do cycle, everything tests out to specs. Anyone heard or had this problem?

PCM problem possibly. That's what tells them to turn on.

might be a loose wire somewhere or even a problem with the ignition

Or possibly the valve cover gasket has a short in the wiring.

I would say no to the valve cover gasket unless the whole thing was fried. I had a problem with my fuel injector harness right there at the plug in. It for some reason burnt the harness side of the connector. The truck still ran and fired right up, but there was a very very noticible miss. I'm guessing maybe a lose connection or like one other guy said, maybe a problem with the ignition. Do you replace the GPR with a factory one? I upgraded to the Stancor GPR, havent turned back....its awesome for the winters here in IL.
