Throttle Positon Sensor
I have a 2002 7.3 one ton. Start the truck and it immediately idles. Step on the accelerator...nothing.....
Im told its the TPS. No trouble code (I can see). when it first started happening, I would have to wait a couple seconds, then all is normal. Normal thottle response. that was two months ago. Now, however, I have to wait a minimum of thirty minutes. So...my question. Does this sound like the TPS and if so; Do I have to replace the whole pedal assembly or just the sensor? If anyone has had to do this can you share with me the R & R procedure? Greg |

I believe you can just replace the sensor...
If it starts working after awhile it sounds like a computer problem. The sensor either works or doesnt but the computer can be tricky like not working one minute and working another. Usually |

I just had this happen to me a few hrs ago. Started the truck, put it in drive. Truck started idleing fwd then as I gave it some throttle and nothing. No response at all. I put it in reverse then back to fwd and the truck reacted perfectly fine after that. I have no idea what it could be.
